This proposal for Ontario Place asserts that public memory & input is the foundation of social sustainability. The concept reactivates the Ontario North Silos with a focus on a public memory repository and semi-private archives for design and architecture in continuation of Eberhard Zeidler’s legacy.
It aims to engage with the public realm at large and foster a slow-building strategy which collects, documents, and activates public memory as masonry; Initially, accruing it and displaying it through time in the form of an experiential interior and subsequently reactivating it as building material for future silo archives of Canadian design and architectural heritage.
